TUI Travel PLC heeft gisteren haar voorlopige resultaten voor het boekjaar 2009/2010 bekend gemaakt. Een bericht die vandaag in vele kranten, waaronder De Tijd, is opgepikt.

 In het officiële persbericht stond over België te lezen:

 “Belgium achieved a strong improvement in underlying operating profits to £56m (2009: £45m). Customer volumes increased by 4% over the prior year, driven by the launch of new destinations and growth in the offering from regional airports. Margins also improved as a result of a five percentage point increase in controlled distribution to 55%, driven by the online channel.”

 Vooral deze expliciete vermelding van die laatste woorden maken me super trots. Zowel op ons e-commerce team als op alle collega’s op de diensten die dit mee hebben gerealiseerd.
